Autum 2011

For a whole summer, I was away from Ice Lake. When I go back in September, I am stunned at its beauty. Canadian geese, en route from Alaska to Mexico, stop to feed here. Many of them, young and old, stroll leisurely on the grass. Sunshine is the color of harvest wheat, tinting everything with golden threads. Ice Lake is like a beautiful painting. I found six turtles sunbathing on a piece of log today. The water is of dark green, reflecting the highlands around the lake, and the feel is cold. At Ice Lake there are only songs of the birds, sounds of the wind. Ice Lake is a pearl in the busy city. I wish I could live close to it so that I could appreciate its beauty everyday.
