Parting is a sweet sorrow

I wish to taste the sweetness in it, but all I feel is bitterness.

It is hard to say goodbye to this place where I have been living for the past few years. The squirrels that dig in my little garden, the birds that chirp in the bushes, the neighbor's dogs and cats that run through my backyard... So many things...

It is not a comfy place but I have grown to love it and appreciated its peace and warmth which I haven't been able to find elsewhere. I have complained about the indifference and coldness that people to people on the train and on the bus, they look at you, their eyes emotionless and tired. But there are smiles and politeness. When you get to know them, they are actually not as cold and distant as they appear to be.

We cried a lot, but we have to go. There is no return. If our life is like that of the salmon, one day we will return to rest in this vast land of green and abundance. My dear little darling, I can not keep you here, but I can work hard so that you can come in the future.

Say goodbye to the good salmon, the good geese, the good squirrels, and the good blue jays. Say goodbye to your pals at skating, swimming and gaming. We are heading to a new destination, a strange world full of ... maybe... traps.

We will be OK, my dear little darling,
I am with you.
I will hold your hand and guard you.
